Let me start by telling you that this is my mom's "sewing table," upon which sat, for years and years, her Pfaff sewing machine. I don't know if she bought the sewing machine when we all lived in Germany, or...

Gosh. My smug-ometer reading is off the dial this morning! You know, with the Rapture let-down, and all. What a bunch of idiots. So, I've been absent for a while, I know. But, it's Spring . . . and all...

Nice! Forsythia is one tough plant. I was so looking forward to finding a snow-covered lawn this morning but when a person sleeps until 11 AM said person is unlikely to see spring snow. I'll bet most of yours is gone by now too.

Pam--So envy you. Sleeping until 11 a.m. Gosh! Tony would let me sleep that late, but I'm just not able to do so, as I've gotten older.
I had planned on taking my camera to Olney today, but forgot it. When I passed the Forsythia while driving through the community, I had to turn back to retrieve the camera, and so glad I did. Snow in late March is a rare occurrence. I would like to have found a similar shot of a blossoming cherry tree. Upon my return this late-afternoon, all the snow had melted, but we did have 2-3 inches of heavy, wet snow at 9 a.m. this morning.

A very FAST spring in southern Illinois. My beloved dogwoods were eight days, start to finish. I was away for six of those days. Same for red buds, forsythia, magnolias, etc. Lilac is in full bloom now, but there is so much water and saturated ground I can only see them, not enjoying their fragrance up close.
Hope your absence is just an absence, and your spring rains are not wedged around dramatic weather events.

Hope to be seeing something from you soon.
